PDF/A is the ISO-standardized format for long-term
archiving: documents remain faithfully readable even
decades from now. In this tutorial, we set up a profile
that automatically converts new PDF files to PDF/A.

First, give the profile a suitable name.

On the Monitored folders page, choose which folder is
watched. Every PDF file that arrives there will be
converted automatically from now on.

come with sensible defaults.

The preset is PDF/A-2b - the recommended standard for
most archives. PDF/A-1b offers maximum compatibility
with older systems, and PDF/A-3b allows embedded files,
for example for electronic invoices.

A nice touch: files that are already PDF/A compliant
are skipped by default instead of being converted again
unnecessarily.

Finally, enter the target folder for the converted
files. Placeholders are supported here as well - for
